A piece 20 mm wide and 10 cm long has a surface area of 20 cm² and therefore an adhesive force of approximately 9 kg. This is a laboratory value, measured perpendicularly on thick, bare steel. In practice, the adhesive force is lower, especially on thin or painted steel, or if the object can slide along the surface. Therefore, be generous with your calculations. Are you in doubt?
