Neodymium eye magnet Ø60 x 18 mm, grade N40, steel pot with NiCuNi coating. Holding force approx. 95 kg.
Very powerful: suitable for heavy objects in workshops and warehouses, on a thick steel surface. The steel pot concentrates the magnetic force on the flat side, giving the magnet much more holding force on steel than the same magnet without a pot. Place it on a flat steel surface and hang a hook, chain, or cable in the eye. The same pot is also available as a hook magnet. Hook magnet or eye magnet?
You only achieve the full holding force when the magnet hangs from the underside of a thick steel beam or plate and is loaded straight downwards. On a vertical wall, the magnet will slide away at approx. 19 kg: about 15 to 20% of the holding force. Therefore, choose a much stronger magnet for a wall.
The holding force was measured under ideal conditions on a flat steel plate; in practice, the actual holding force is lower. Read how holding force is determined.
Hanging from under a thick steel beam and loaded straight downwards, approx. 95 kg under ideal conditions. On a vertical steel wall, it will slide away at approx. 19 kg. In practice, allow a generous margin.
No. The holding force is not an approved working load. Do not use it as the sole attachment for lifting or for loads above people; certified lifting magnets are available for this purpose.
A carabiner, chain, cable, or rope. Complete sets with rope are available for magnet fishing: see fishing magnets.
Tilt it over the edge or slide it sideways. Pulling straight up requires the full holding force.
Yes. Email your purchase order, and we will deliver on account; volume discounts apply when ordering multiple units. Do use it as an attachment point, not as a lifting device. Business orders.
Ordered and paid for before 16:00 on working days, it will be dispatched the same day if in stock. Free shipping within the Netherlands from €45. Consumers have a 30-day cooling-off period.
Magnets are not toys and should be kept out of reach of children. Keep strong magnets away from pacemakers, electronics, and bank cards. Powerful magnets can snap together or against metal with force; keep your fingers away. The holding force is not an approved working load: do not use magnets as the sole attachment for lifting or hanging heavy loads that could cause injury if they fall.
According to the data provided by the manufacturer, this product complies with the European REACH Regulation.

Neodymium magnets are very powerful and can bounce off each other and/or iron objects at high speed. The force increases as the magnet gets larger, which also increases the risk of breakage. Two of the larger magnets in our range are powerful enough to break fingers or at least cause a few large blisters.
Therefore, wear work gloves and keep magnets away from children. Also, keep Neodymium (NdFeB) magnets at a safe distance from people with pacemakers. This also applies to electronic devices and payment cards.
Neodymium magnets are still the most powerful magnets available today. Our super-strong magnets also remain magnetic virtually indefinitely, provided they are not exposed to the maximum operating temperature or are used with opposite poles.
The letters and numbers in the material coding have the following meaning: The N stands for Neodymium, the subsequent digits indicate the maximum magnetic energy expressed in MgOe. If there are no further letters after this, the magnet can be used up to 80 degrees Celsius.
If there are still letters behind it, it can reach a higher temperature.
We indicate adhesive force in grams or kilograms because this appeals to more people than Newton. The indicated force is measured perpendicular to the magnet. The adhesive force is the force required to pull a smooth, flat steel object (ST37) at least 10 millimeters thick from the magnet in question.
This force quickly diminishes when, for example, there's a gap or layer of paint between the magnet and the object. Even half a millimeter can reduce the force by half. A steel alloy or a rough surface also significantly reduces the holding force.
As mentioned, the direction of the adhesive force is perpendicular to the magnet, but the shear force is much smaller and also depends on the friction between the magnet and the object.
