You can attach radiator foil without glue or tape using small neodymium magnets. You secure the foil to a suitable magnetic metal surface and can remove the magnets later without leaving any adhesive residue. Read below to find out what you need to know before you order.

How does it work?

Apply the radiator foil according to the foil manufacturer's instructions. Use the magnets to secure the foil to a suitable magnetic metal mounting point. Check beforehand whether the surface is magnetic and whether the temperature at the mounting point remains within the specifications of the magnet.

What surfaces do they work on?

Neodymium magnets adhere to ferromagnetic metals such as steel. They do not adhere directly to aluminum, copper, or plastic. Test with a single magnet to see if your mounting point is magnetic.

Which magnets do we use?

Our radiator foil magnets are 8 x 4 x 3 mm neodymium block magnets in N50 grade with a NiCuNi coating. The holding force is approx. 1 kg per magnet, and the maximum temperature is 80 °C. The holding force is measured under ideal conditions and may vary in practice (how is the holding force determined?). The magnets are reusable.

How many magnets do you need?

That depends on the dimensions of your radiator, the type of foil, and the number of mounting points.

Set Suitable for
8 pieces Small radiator or limited application
20 pieces Average radiator or multiple mounting points
40 pieces Larger radiator or multiple radiators

Frequently asked questions

Can I attach radiator foil without glue?

Yes, you can do this with magnets as long as there is a suitable magnetic metal mounting point.

Are the magnets reusable?

Yes. You can remove and reuse them, for example, if you want to move or replace the foil.

Do they work on every radiator?

No. They adhere to steel and other ferromagnetic metals, not to aluminum, copper, or plastic.

Are the magnets resistant to the heat of a radiator?

The maximum operating temperature is 80 °C. Check that the temperature at the mounting point remains below this.
