A steel ring with a countersunk hole is not a magnet, but the counterpart to which you snap your magnet. You screw it onto wood, plastic, or another non-magnetic material, so that your magnet can still hold on. Ideal for cabinet doors, flaps, displays, and removable panels. The rings have the same dimensions as our ring magnets and pot magnets, so they fit perfectly.

Why use a steel ring instead of a second magnet?
A steel ring is cheaper and you do not have to worry about the poles: the magnet will always attach to it. With two ring magnets, you must combine a north pole and a south pole, otherwise they will repel each other.
Is the holding force on a ring as high as on steel?
Not quite. The stated holding force of a magnet is measured on thick steel; a thin ring will exert less force. For a door or flap, this is usually more than enough. Read how holding force is determined.
Which screw should I use?
