Which filter magnet do you choose? Diameter, length and thread

Choose the right neodymium filter magnet: diameter, length, and internal thread (M6, M8, or M10). Overview of the versions.

A filter magnet is a rod-shaped neodymium magnet in a stainless steel housing, intended for removing ferrous particles from a product or liquid stream. All of our filter magnets are of grade N42, diametrically magnetized, and have internal threads at both ends for mounting.

What should you look for?

  • Diameter and length: a longer and thicker magnet covers more of the flow and captures more particles. Choose the size that fits your hopper, chute, or tank.
  • Internal thread: M6 for Ø12 mm, M8 for Ø16 to Ø25 mm, and M10 for Ø32 mm. This allows you to hang the magnet from a threaded rod or bolt.
  • Diametrical magnetization: the poles are on the sides of the rod, so that particles are held along the length.
  • Temperature: the maximum operating temperature is 80 °C.

Overview

Diameter Lengths Internal thread
Ø12 mm 200 mm M6
Ø16 mm 120 mm M8
Ø20 mm 160 mm M8
Ø25 mm 180, 190, 250, 270, 280, 300 and 310 mm M8
Ø32 mm 300 and 430 mm M10

Safe use

Magnets are not toys and should be kept out of reach of children. Keep strong magnets away from pacemakers, electronics, and bank cards. Long, powerful rods will snap against metal and each other with force; keep your fingers away. Only remove captured particles once you can safely hold the magnet or have removed it from the flow.
