Ferrite pot magnet Ø63 x 14 mm with M8 threaded insert, grade HF 26/22. Holding force approx. 36 kg under perpendicular load, approx. 7 kg on a vertical wall. A ferrite pot magnet is less powerful than a neodymium pot magnet of the same size, but is resistant to higher temperatures and less sensitive to moisture.
For fastenings where it gets hot or where moisture is present, such as in workshops, on machines, ovens and installations, or for temporary outdoor use. The steel pot concentrates the magnetic force on the flat front surface, giving the magnet much more holding force on steel than a loose ferrite magnet. You can screw a bolt, hook or eye with M8 thread into the threaded insert.
Neodymium is much stronger: a neodymium pot magnet of Ø60 mm holds approx. 73 kg, compared to approx. 36 kg for this ferrite Ø63 mm. Ferrite, on the other hand, can be used up to 200 °C (neodymium up to 80 °C) and does not rust, while neodymium rusts and loses strength when exposed to moisture. Choose ferrite for heat and damp environments, and neodymium if you want as much strength as possible in a small size. Also view our neodymium pot magnets.
You only achieve the full holding force when the magnet hangs from the underside of a thick steel beam or plate and is loaded straight downwards. On a vertical wall, the magnet will slide away at approximately 7 kg: about 15 to 20% of the holding force.
The holding force is measured under ideal conditions on a flat steel plate; in practice, the actual holding force is lower. Read how holding force is determined.
When it gets hot (up to 200 °C) or if moisture is present. If you want as much strength as possible in a small size, neodymium is better.
A bolt, hook or eye with M8 thread. This allows you to create a suspension point or handle, for example.
Hanging from a thick steel beam, approx. 36 kg; on a vertical wall, approx. 7 kg, under ideal conditions. In practice, allow a generous margin and do not hang anything above people without additional safety measures.

Magnets are not toys and should be kept out of reach of children. Powerful magnets can strike steel with force; keep your fingers away. The holding force is not an approved working load: do not use magnets as the sole fastening for lifting or suspending heavy loads where a fall could cause injury.
According to the data provided by the manufacturer, this product complies with the European REACH Regulation.

Neodymium magnets are very powerful and can bounce off each other and/or iron objects at high speed. The force increases as the magnet gets larger, which also increases the risk of breakage. Two of the larger magnets in our range are powerful enough to break fingers or at least cause a few large blisters.
Therefore, wear work gloves and keep magnets away from children. Also, keep Neodymium (NdFeB) magnets at a safe distance from people with pacemakers. This also applies to electronic devices and payment cards.
Neodymium magnets are still the most powerful magnets available today. Our super-strong magnets also remain magnetic virtually indefinitely, provided they are not exposed to the maximum operating temperature or are used with opposite poles.
The letters and numbers in the material coding have the following meaning: The N stands for Neodymium, the subsequent digits indicate the maximum magnetic energy expressed in MgOe. If there are no further letters after this, the magnet can be used up to 80 degrees Celsius.
If there are still letters behind it, it can reach a higher temperature.
We indicate adhesive force in grams or kilograms because this appeals to more people than Newton. The indicated force is measured perpendicular to the magnet. The adhesive force is the force required to pull a smooth, flat steel object (ST37) at least 10 millimeters thick from the magnet in question.
This force quickly diminishes when, for example, there's a gap or layer of paint between the magnet and the object. Even half a millimeter can reduce the force by half. A steel alloy or a rough surface also significantly reduces the holding force.
As mentioned, the direction of the adhesive force is perpendicular to the magnet, but the shear force is much smaller and also depends on the friction between the magnet and the object.
