What do you use this magnet for?

How much does this magnet hold in practice?

Approx. 55 kg, pulled perpendicularly from thick, flat steel. On thin sheet steel or a curved surface, it is less. Thanks to the rubber, it holds better laterally than a bare magnet, but still only a fraction of the holding force.

Does it damage paint or a sensitive surface?

No, the rubber coating prevents scratches. Keep the rubber and the surface clean, however: sand or grit underneath can still cause scratches.

Which bolt fits inside?

An M8 bolt or threaded stud. Screw it in firmly but not with force, so the thread remains intact.

How do I remove it?

Lift it at the edge so that air gets underneath. Pulling straight up requires the full holding force.
