Neodymium rubber eye magnet Ø88 x 8.5 mm, N40 grade, steel pot with rubber coating, stainless steel eye. Holding force approx. 55 kg.
Very powerful: suitable for heavy objects in workshops and warehouses, on a thick steel surface. The steel pot concentrates the magnetic force on the flat front, giving the magnet much more holding force on steel than the same magnet without a pot. Place it on a flat steel surface and hang a hook, chain, or cable from the eye. The rubber coating protects the surface from scratches and provides grip, so the magnet is less likely to slide. The eye is made of stainless steel and therefore does not rust, even outdoors or in a damp environment. Which hook magnet should you choose?
You only achieve the full holding force when the magnet hangs from the underside of a thick steel beam or plate and is loaded straight downwards. On a vertical wall, the magnet will slide away at approx. 11 kg: about 15 to 20% of the holding force. Therefore, choose a much stronger magnet for a wall.
The holding force was measured under ideal conditions on a flat steel plate; in practice, the actual holding force is lower. Read how holding force is determined.
Ordered and paid for on working days before 16:00, it will be dispatched the same day if in stock. Free shipping within the Netherlands from €45. Consumers have a 30-day cooling-off period.
Magnets are not toys and should be kept out of reach of children. Keep strong magnets away from pacemakers, electronics, and bank cards. Powerful magnets can snap hard against each other or against metal; keep your fingers away. The holding force is not an authorized working load: do not use magnets as the sole means of securing heavy loads for lifting or hanging where a fall could cause injury.
According to the data provided by the manufacturer, this product complies with the European REACH Regulation.

Neodymium magnets are very powerful and can bounce off each other and/or iron objects at high speed. The force increases as the magnet gets larger, which also increases the risk of breakage. Two of the larger magnets in our range are powerful enough to break fingers or at least cause a few large blisters.
Therefore, wear work gloves and keep magnets away from children. Also, keep Neodymium (NdFeB) magnets at a safe distance from people with pacemakers. This also applies to electronic devices and payment cards.
Neodymium magnets are still the most powerful magnets available today. Our super-strong magnets also remain magnetic virtually indefinitely, provided they are not exposed to the maximum operating temperature or are used with opposite poles.
The letters and numbers in the material coding have the following meaning: The N stands for Neodymium, the subsequent digits indicate the maximum magnetic energy expressed in MgOe. If there are no further letters after this, the magnet can be used up to 80 degrees Celsius.
If there are still letters behind it, it can reach a higher temperature.
We indicate adhesive force in grams or kilograms because this appeals to more people than Newton. The indicated force is measured perpendicular to the magnet. The adhesive force is the force required to pull a smooth, flat steel object (ST37) at least 10 millimeters thick from the magnet in question.
This force quickly diminishes when, for example, there's a gap or layer of paint between the magnet and the object. Even half a millimeter can reduce the force by half. A steel alloy or a rough surface also significantly reduces the holding force.
As mentioned, the direction of the adhesive force is perpendicular to the magnet, but the shear force is much smaller and also depends on the friction between the magnet and the object.
